Poster for Black History Month at Sadacca, in Sheffield

Re-Living My ROOTS was an event and exhibition held to address the reasons for a Dub and Sound System rather than the Dub scene that has already been documented.  Not much is said as to the creation of this unique culture and sound as well as the rising of underground Blues night clubs and why they were so important to the community of the 1960’s-70’s.

This explored a range of areas such as the health care, education, community leaders, women of black communities and their roles and more. So much came from this one idea and event, that they’re is now a book being written and documentary being created to compile this information and give it substance.

A series of this will be made available for public viewing in the next few months

Follow our developments on the links below.  There is also a link if you have something to donate or add to the collection.  You will receive a stamp, certificate and an entry on the legacy wall.
